Financial Support Measures

Mindful that this outbreak stands to result in negative financial consequences on its customers, Lombard Bank has introduced the following measures:

Business

COVID-19 Working Capital Loan

To further our commitment in assisting business customers with cashflow requirements we will consider applications for working capital loans, at beneficial terms, under the Malta Development Bank (MDB) COVID-19 Guarantee Scheme (click here  for MDB website) as follows:

Costs eligible for working capital loans include:
  • Wages and salaries;
  • Lease payments on business property;
  • Unpaid invoices in respect of working capital;
  • Purchase of stocks and material.
  • Maintenance costs

Eligibility 

SMEs and Large Enterprises registered and operating in Malta are eligible to apply.

Amount and term of the Loans

Loan amounts range:
  • Up to €10 million for SMEs;
  • Up to €25 million for Large Enterprises.
Loans will be repaid over periods of up to four years which may be extended up to six years.
While terms and conditions apply, each request will be treated on its own merits.

Personal 

Lombard Bank will also assist those of its Home Loan customers whose income may be negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Customers who may face difficulty in meeting their repayment programme, will be granted a twelve-month moratorium on 80% of the monthly Home Loan repayment. No fees will be chargeable but conditions may apply.

Other Measures

In line with the instructions issued by the Local Health Authorities, customers visiting our branches / offices will be required to wear a mask or visor. Customers will be asked to temporarily remove their mask to show their face to the security camera on entering our premises and for identification purposes during transaction.

  • When at any of our branches please follow the directions you find inside and given by our staff.
  • The flow of customers into our branches is being regulated. You may therefore experience longer waiting times.
  • All cash and cheque deposits should be made through our ATMs.
  • Cash withdrawals up to €400 should be made through ATMs.
