Regulatory Compliance Analyst

The successful candidate will join the Bank’s Compliance Department and be responsible for supporting the Regulatory Compliance Officer on a wide range of regulatory activities in the context of a continuously evolving regulatory landscape. 

The main responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the Bank remains compliant with various regulatory requirements it is subject to through the identification, assessment and monitoring of risks of a regulatory nature;
  • Maintaining up-to-date policies and implementing plans aimed at sealing-off exposures to current and emerging regulatory risks with a commercially oriented and practical mindset;
  • Ensuring the relevant Fora and Senior Management, are updated on a frequent basis and in a timely manner;
  • Preparing, coordinating, and drafting responses to regulatory requests or conducting on-site inspections as well as gathering the relevant reports required and seeing to any follow-up actions thereto;
  • Liaising with both internal and external Bank stakeholders (including regulators and industry bodies in Malta) to provide support on all regulatory compliance related matters.

The applicants as a minimum shall:

  • Have a minimum 2 years’ relevant experience within the financial services industry;
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal English;
  • Have a keen eye for detail, with robust administrative and organisational skills;
  • Have a good understanding of the banking profession and regulatory compliance;
  • Have the ability and the will to learn and adapt quickly to evolving and changing priorities;
  • Be able to work well under pressure with high degree of accuracy while ensuring tight deadlines are met;
  • Be a proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic team player.

Demonstrating regulatory experience in dealing with the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), and/or the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) amongst others will be considered an asset.
