Database Administrator

In line with the Bank’s continued development the need has arisen to engage suitable individuals to perform the duties of Database Administrator. 

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Assist with schema design, code review, query optimisation
  • Install, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations
  • Upgrade, document and improve database schemas, data dictionaries and data upgrades/migrations
  • Map out conceptual designs for planned databases
  • Maintain data standards, including adherence to GDPR
  • Manage access permissions and privileges
  • Monitor performance and implement parameters to maintain performance
  • Ensure resiliency and security controls
  • Develop, manage, test and document backup and recovery plans

 The applicants as a minimum must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in administering, managing and tuning databases
  • Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Critical thinker and have problem-solving skills
