Lead Core Systems Officer
In line with the Bank’s continued development, the need has arisen to engage a Lead Core Systems Officer. The successful candidate will join the Bank’s Information Technology Department with responsibility for IT infrastructure and operations.
The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leading and managing the day-to-day activities of the Systems Operations team.
- Overseeing the development, maintenance and support of the Bank’s IT infrastructure, including network services, servers and security systems.
- Ensuring the security, reliability and optimal performance of IT services across the Bank.
- Delegating tasks effectively and overseeing delivery to ensure service excellence.
- Monitoring system resources, performing capacity planning and ensuring high system availability.
- Conducting system maintenance and upgrades including applying updates, service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Ensuring robust backup and restore processes are in place and regularly tested.
- Providing 2nd-line support for escalated technical issues.
- Liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders for issue resolution and service improvements.
- Leading and contributing to IT-related projects, ensuring delivery within defined timelines.
- Undertaking other IT-related duties as required.
The applicant as a minimum shall:
- Have proven experience in IT management, with a strong background in network administration and infrastructure support.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and develop technical teams.
- Possess hands-on experience with system monitoring, capacity planning and disaster recovery.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
