Vetting Officer
In line with the Bank’s continued development, the need has arisen to engage a Vetting Officer. The successful candidate will be part of the Bank’s Legal Services Department.
The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
• Providing contract advisory services;
• Vetting of title to properties;
• Vetting / updating / interpreting Public Registry / Land Registry searches;
• Drafting and reviewing of deed/s;
• Legal representation of the Bank for publication of deeds including, among others, deeds of loan / banking facilities;
• Executing and overseeing compliance with post deed procedures;
• Vetting of documentation and processes relative to settlement of deceased estates;
• Assisting with client queries and liaising with notaries / legal representatives;
• Other ancillary duties.
The above duties are examples of responsibilities, however this is not an exhaustive list.
The applicants as a minimum shall have:
• a law/notarial studies degree;
• sufficient competence and experience in work as outlined in the responsibilities above;
• an updated knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations;
• the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines;
• the ability to work independently and within a team;
• strong communication and inter-personal skills and
• strong command of both the Maltese and English languages
